We have stayed at D&W many times and it just keeps getting better. The staff/owner is knowledgeable and helpful in making sure that you are happy with your sight. We arrived in a rainstorm and were led to our site by staff. Easy in and out even for big rigs with long pull thru sites so you don't have to disconnect. Wi-Fi and utilities work well and because of the campground's location you can get plenty of digital air channels off antenna so not having cable is no problem. This is a very quiet campground... This is a small campground, but very clean restrooms, level sites and WiFi for internet & TV. The owners are very nice and extremely helpful if needed. Close shopping and restaurants. No pool but great fishing pond, no license required. Great water pressure and storm shelter. Easy on/off interstate highway. Fuel for towing vehicle is close by interstate exit (truckstop). Dogs are welcome.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way home to Virginia. This is a great location not far off the interstate, I-74/I-57, and close to town for restaurants and shopping. Our site was a pull-thru which was great and the electric/sewer (4") and water were along the length of the site for an easy connection. The park is quiet and very scenic with a lake on the property which we had a view of out our front window, very nice. We used our trailer facilities and never visited the rest room or laundry.... Overall the facility looks beautiful and well maintained with easy access to the highway. Unfortunately their staff was rude and condescending to my father during our stay. They spoke down to him due to his hearing loss. We were late arriving, which we informed them when making the reservation. They called us that evening and we gave an estimated time of arrival. We were thirty minutes off and were berated for being late. I've never had a campground that did not have a late check-in system in place... Read More

The staff spoke to my father like a child stating, "I don't know if you heard me but you should have called." Never had a campground attendant so offended by a late arrival. Will never stay here again.

Great WIFI,easy in and out. Very friendly staff and helpful, they are redoing water and power to some of the sites and will finish when the rain stops. The sites are gravel that is level and wide, plenty of length for truck and trailers. This is our second stop and plan to use them each time we travel south. Thanks!

We traveled with our dog who is a larger size and has a large dog bark, I'm not saying that the facility was not dog friendly but we got the impression that they were not large dog friendly. This was our first experience where we felt uncomfortable during our stay. I can say we will not stay here again.

I agree with all the previous comments. Excellent staff, location, sites, pond, restroom, and campground. We stayed at the end of October during an early cold spell. The water pipe at the site is heat taped and protected from wind and snow. Very nice! Mix that with my heated water hose and tank heaters there was no problem with frozen lines or tanks. The pond is catch and release. Since it is on private property you do not need a fishing license which is really nice. We definitely will... Read More

Excellent service from the first moment we arrived! The sites were spacious, pull-thru, with at least 15 feet of lawn, with tables and fire pits. Had a view of the little lake. Also, a swing on small patio overlooking lake. Plenty of shade for all. Dog area a bit small with no shade, but weather was OK plus there was a 1/2 mile trail around the lake you could use instead that was shaded. Restrooms spotless. Laundry small but nice. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it... Read More

We chose this spot for easy highway accessibility on our trip west - & were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! Sites along a small lake, bordered by a lush field of beans, lots of trees, walking options that can total 2 miles if you choose (great for pet exercise!), quiet, laid back, clean, easy check-in by person who led us to our site. Liked it so well we stayed there on our way home! Did not use restrooms so can't comment.

How to read Good Sam Ratings
The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment. All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 | 10 | 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance. Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.
Completeness of facilities
10 10 10
The first campground rating evaluates completeness and quality of facilities. In this category we rate interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance.
Cleanliness of restrooms and showers
10 10 10
The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor. If a park achieves a full point in each of the above, it receives a star ( ), indicating exceptionally clean restrooms.
Also rated are physical characteristics of restrooms, including interior construction, adequate supplies/odor free, adequate number of facilities, exterior appearance and location in relation to park spaces, and interior appearance.
Visual appeal and environmental quality
10 10 10
This category addresses the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
