Thurs June 6, 2024: Trina has a jarring encounter, Gio starts a new job, concerns for Finn deepen, Kristina tries to mend fences; and Maxie and Spinelli enjoy some family time.
Wednesday’s GH recap: Gregory’s Loved Ones Share Their Memories and Scatter His Ashes While Blaze Fights with Her Mom at the Studio
At the Metro Court Pool, Lifeguard Joss blows her whistle when someone dives.
When James runs across her path, she tells him not to run.
Spinelli runs up with an apology. James has had some sugar.
He asks if Joss has seen Jason and ponders why he and Sonny are at odds.
As they talk, Gio stops James before he can cannonball into the pool.
They all explain to James he could have gotten hurt.
They’ll give him a warning if he behaves the rest of the day.
Joss is surprised to see Gio, remembering his violin playing from the wedding.
She wonders why a genius like that is working as a pool attendant.
They talk about her mom being Carly and how he’s heard about her from his mom.
Joss calls them nepo hires but Gio explains he was made to interview by his Aunt Olivia.
He’s on probation for a month. Joss laughs.
In the studio, Blaze sings, making Kristina, Natalia and the other engineer smile.
Natalia tries to make small talk, thinking Kristina would rather be outside but she likes listening to Blaze.
Natalia watches her and her smile falters.
Marv signs off on the song though Blaze feels like she needs another take.
Natalia disagrees and they send Marv on a break. Kristina questions Natalia’s opinion.
Since Alie’s the artist, wouldn’t she know what she wants? Natalia wants Kristina to trust her.
She can see that Kristina’s not happy with her.
They talk about how honest Natalia is to a fault and Kristina admits she was raised to believe that honesty without tact equals cruelty.
“You’re saying I’m rude or cruel or both?” Natalia asks. Krissy never said either way.
She asks if she’d rather go.
Natalia doesn’t want her to. She confesses she’s adjusting to this reality of her relationship with her daughter though she can see Kristina’s a lovely woman with a bright future.
Kristina thanks her.
They talk about her mother looking out for her and that Natalia believes good moms look out for their kids no matter how old they are.
She can see how much Alie cares for her but when Blaze is close to her life-long dream, she’ll have a hard time choosing between being a singer and being in this relationship with Kristina.
She asks her to let Alison go gracefully. Krissy gasps. She can’t see the future.
Natalia believes things between them will end in pain. She claims she’s trying to protect his mother.
“You’re going to learn soon enough that’s what mother’s do.” Kristina’s mouth drops open.
Later, Marv and Alie chat and she tells her mother they agree there doesn’t need to be another take.
She asks what she and Krissy were talking about. Natalia shrugs. Not much.
She goes and Kristina appears with an apology. Alie too has one for betraying her confidence.
She didn’t mean to. Kristina is sorry for making her keep her secret about seeing Sonny. They make up with a hug while Natalia grimaces in the sound booth.
Chase is unnerved to see Finn taking a drink outside at Metro Court.
He watches as his brother sprays breath spray into his mouth.
Georgie calls him and everyone files out, leaving Chase upset.
Georgie finds Maxie who asks her to stop yelling. She toddles off when she sees Violet.
Maxie’s sorry for Finn’s loss. Georgie says the same thing and they talk about heading to the pool.
Chase goes to get Violet’s sleeping bag and Finn is grateful that he can leave Violet with her.
She needs a break from everything while he goes through his father’s things.
BLQ offers to help but he wants to do it alone.
Maxie gets it but if he changes his mind, he should let people help.
Finn gets upset. He doesn’t need the help.
Brook Lynn shoots him a look. Chase returns with Violet’s things and Finn gives his daughter a heads up to listen to her elders and the lifeguard.
Violet’s afraid to leave her daddy alone but Finn reassures his daughter he never feels alone because of her but she’s going on sabbatical for 20 years.
They embrace and Maxie takes the kids away. Finn thanks Chase for putting the memorial on for their dad.
Finn wants to leave but Chase was hoping they’d spend time together.
BLQ finds Finn’s behavior odd and narrows her eyes as Finn asks to see his brother next week.
There are hugs all around and Finn leaves. Chase tells his wife his brother wants to be alone so he can drink in peace.
He fills her in on what he saw. BLQ isn’t surprised.
Chase wishes he saw it and beats himself up. They agree they need to help him, to let him know that they’re there for him. They hope he can get through to him.

She lets him know people camp out in advance to get tickets to it.
He teases that he has free tickets to give away.
They bend to pick up some towels and she playfully slaps him on the arm before he goes flying into the pool.
Joss apologizes before they both start laughing.
When Trina shows up, she sees Gio and looks stunned.
They’re introduced and Trina learns he’s the violinist and is going to be playing at Summer Stage.

He has seen what she can do firsthand, he says, touching his wet hair.
Joss is shocked to hear he’s going to PCU. He says they can hear him play there.
As he stares at Trina, he says he hopes they’ll all see more of each other.
Trina grins at him.
Nearby, the kids and Spin try to get Maxie into the pool but she’s busy reading and doesn’t want to get her hair or makeup done.
Violet sits with Maxie. She worries about her dad.
At a table nearby, Joss questions Gio about why he wanted to go to PCU. He says he was invited to audition and offered him a full ride along with playing at Summer Stage.
He feels lucky. Joss cautions that they put scholarship students in the worst dorm.
Trina tells him about there being no hot water.
It’s why they’re looking for apartments off campus.

Trina tells him they’re looking for someone to play music at the art gallery. Gio is interested and asks if he can give her his number.
When he goes, Joss questions why Trina seemed so frazzled.
Trina admits when Spencer first died, she saw him everywhere.
She thought her mind accepted that he was gone, “But when Gio stepped out of the pool…” she trails off while Joss holds her.
In the pool, James complains that his mom didn’t even bring a swimsuit.
Spin tells him there will be plenty more pool days to come.
Meanwhile, Maxie and Violet talk about grief and Violet says there’s something different about her dad.
Maxie says he probably doesn’t want to worry her. Violet says she’s still worried.
Maxie offers to take her home but thinks it might be better to let him be.
At home, Finn packs his father’s shirts and reminisces about helping him get into his shoes before the wedding.
He finds an AA pamphlet and starts reading it, then calls to see if the venue he went to last was open again after it closed due to construction.
He tears up after the call and stares at his keys before taking off.
Finn heads into the Brown Dog and orders a drink.
Back outside at Metro Court, BLQ asks if Chase thinks his brother would do anything to put his daughter in harms’ way in the state he’s in.
