How to transfer your data to PlayStation 5 Pro from PS4 or PS5

While this might be obvious to some folks, if you’re looking for a clean and seamless way to move your data over to the new PlayStation 5 Pro today, we have the details for you right here.

First thing’s first, you’ll want to make sure your original console (the one you are transferring data from) has been updated to the latest system software. You’ll also want to make sure you have synced your trophy information.

After that, you’ll want to sign in to your PlayStation Network account on both your original console and your new PlayStation 5 Pro.

This will enable you to easily transfer your user information as well as all of the games you have downloaded to your PS5 Pro’s internal storage medium alongside all of your save data, and select console settings.

Sony notes that you will need to ensure both consoles are connected to the same network for this to happen.

And then navigate to the following settings menu:

Settings > System > System Software, select Data Transfer > Continue then follow the on-screen instructions.

PS5 Console Sharing and Offline PlaySetup

Sony notes that you can have your account on multiple consoles, but you can only assign one console for Console Sharing and Offline Play at any given time. When you firsts sign in your new PS5 Pro, Console Sharing and Offline Play will automatically be enabled.

Sync your peripherals and controllers to PS5 Pro – DualSense controller, DualSense Edge controller, Pulse Elite Headset, Pulse Explore, and PlayStation Portal

Sony says you will need to pair your DualSense controller to your PS5 Pro, be it a brand new or one you already own. Connect it to the machine using the USB-C cable and power the controller up.

To pair the PlayStation Portal, head over to the home screen on PS5 and then select Settings > System > Remote Play, and then turn on Enable Remote Play. Then just sign into your PlayStation Network account on your Portal and follow the instructions to sync it up to your PS5 Pro.

And for setting up an external PS5 Disc Drive or the M.2 SSD you had in your original console, check out the details Sony is providing below:

Transfer your M.2 SSD from PS5 to PS5 Pro

If your original PS5 has a M.2 SSD installed, you can insert it into your PS5 Pro, followingthis guide.

Set up a PS5 Pro with a PS5 Disc Drive

If you’ve purchased a separate PS5 Disc Drive to install onto your PS5 Pro, you can followthis handy guide.

Pair your PS5 Pro with the PlayStation App

You can download games while away from home, manage console storage if you don’t have enough space and start a game on the app so it’s ready to pick up the controller and play.

Happy gaming folks! What games are you going to be playing first on your new PS5 Pro?
