So, as people across the country pick up their copies of the Christmas edition of the RT, the 2018 discussions will be drawing to a close . . . . . . . and the 2019 ones start The Official Christmas Radio Times Countdown And Christmas TV Thread *2019* (2)

For those unfamiliar: This is where we all get excited about what's going to be on tv during the coming Christmas, with a focus on the 'legendary' double issue of the Radio Times. As the winner of the 2018 'Guess the Cover' competition, I have the honour of starting it.

If you have any facts/speculation for next year; or want to discuss the future of Christmas tv or the Radio Time, please start posting!

In the meantime though, I hope you all enjoy your Christmases, whether you are watching tv or not, and have a happy new year.

Now that we know ITV will show The Force Awakens this Christmas I presume they will have Rogue One next Christmas.

I presume, although you never really know. I thought they would have Fantastic Beasts this year and Bridget Jones, but no sign of either. So next year should include: Rogue One, Bridget Jones Baby and Fantastic Beasts.

So next years will run from 21 Dec to 5 Jan won’t it.

Wonder if Strictly Final, SPOTY and the Apprentice Final will be on that weekend, rather than the one before

Can’t honestly believe The Chase at 3.10 pm after the Queen on Christmas Day is a repeat! These are the details you see when you have an RT.

Or any of the cheaper mags The Official Christmas Radio Times Countdown And Christmas TV Thread *2019* (11)

    Congrats again @blueisthecolour
I also posted very little in the 2018 thread as RT is dead to me with it being over priced for a listings magazine, coupled with its tired and dated listings format. I find Whats On TV to be a much better listings mag (which also has a sports planner not included with RT) at a magnificent price for what it offers.

Good luck to those sticking with RT and contributing to the 2019 thread. I'll probably pop in again around November next year to see how it's going The Official Christmas Radio Times Countdown And Christmas TV Thread *2019* (12)

2019 is the 30th anniversary of the first Wallace & Gromit film so we could have another W&G cover

    Sensible Christmas Day schedule
    12:30pm Film - Inside Out
    2:00 Top of the Pops
    3:00 The Queen
3:10 Film premiere - Beauty and the Beast
    4:45 Animation
    5:15 News
5:30 Strictly Come Dancing Xmas special
    6:45 Eastenders
7:15 Michael McIntyre's Big Xmas Show
    8:15 Eastenders
8:45 Film premiere - Bridget Jones' Baby

Moana will premiere on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, Rogue One will be on New Years Day.

Doctor Who will be New Years Day along with Call the Midwife which will serve as the start of the new series.

Could 2019 also see Coco, The Boss Baby and The Lego Batman Movie premiere?

    Probably be same old schedule although I wouldn’t mind seeing ITV do something different like the following;

    2:45 - News
    3 - Queen
    3:10 - Chase
4:10 - Despicable Me 3 (if ready for Terrestrial TV)
    5:55 - Emmerdale
    6:55 - Coronation Street
    8:00 - Fantastic Beasts

    BBC1 would probably combat that with;

    3 - Queen
3:10 - Beauty and the Beast
    4:45 - News
    4:55 - Snail and Whale
    5:25 - SCD
    6:40 - Michael McIntyre
    7:40 - CTM
    9:10 - Eastenders
    10:10 - Mrs Brown Boys

Coco won't be due until 2020. Next year's Disney/Pixar animations will be Moana and Finding Dory. Almost certain now that Beauty and the Beast will get Christmas Day.
Also if Channel 5 have Lego Batman like they had the Lego Movie then they may not wait until Christmas to premiere it. I'd also presume Bridget Jones will go to ITV

Wrong thread, this is next Christmas, but yes, incredibly, it’s a HP free Christmas across the ITV channels! 😮

Not 2019 chat, but another premiere to consider for 2020 is Aardamans Early Man, I hope this gets a good prime time slot, fits nicely on Boxing Day.
